Ask Yourself Anything
a creative practice for the height of summer
Try this.
Ask yourself questions, respond, and roll with it.
Whether you are looking to get started on a writing project or simply check in with your soul, this is a fun, simple, and light practice to get those creative energies flowing.
Start with the easiest question—
What do you want?
I want to paint.
Why do you want to paint?
I feel drawn to expressing my creativity not only in my writing, but in this more physical way. I want to imbue my paintings with my prayers as I create them. I want to enjoy the creative flow of painting and the result of having beautiful pieces to share.
Where will you start?
I feel drawn to paint flowers.
But, hasn’t it been a long time since you last painted?
Yes, it’s been ten years since I last painted, but I won’t let that time stop me. I was working on other projects, I still am, but I can find some time to paint if I want to.
What else do you want to create?
Books, stories, gardens, delicious meals, sweet events, music, and memories.
How do you prioritize your projects?
I follow my heart. My energy guides me to create at just the right timing.
How do you choose what to create?
I let the spirit of creativity move me. I seek out opportunities and I let the opportunities come to me.
